Earth Day & Spring Cleanups
Tuesday, April 22, 2025 is the annual Earth Day. Throughout the globe communities will be celebrating and raising awareness through family-friendly festivals, fairs, recycling events and workshops. Most events are between Saturday the 19th and Saturday the 26th. Below are some links to events throughout the state. Also included are links to household hazardous waste disposal and rain barrel workshops.

Household Hazardous Waste Disposal
The CDPHE has put together a list of household hazardous waste programs throughout the state: Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Program List. If you’re doing some spring cleaning and have hazardous waste to dispose of, take advantage of these programs and protect our stormwater by doing it properly. Check with your local municipality for upcoming disposal events which are often held in the spring and fall.
Rain Barrel Workshops and Information
Rain barrels help to reduce stormwater runoff, reducing the number of pollutants that are washed into our waterways. Look for rain barrel workshops in your area to get the items you need to integrate rain barrels at your home.
