Make a Work Email Address a Google Account
You can setup any current email address you use as a Google account without using Google for email. Because we use Google Groups to manage our distribution lists and Google Drive for committees to share files, this gives you the ability to use one email address and account to manage the committees distribution list or share files with other committee members. Unless your municipality blocks Google services, we would recommend doing this if you are an active committee participant.
To do this, go to accounts.google.com.
- If user accounts show, click on “remove user accounts” until the login screen shows the Create account link. (This will not delete the account but will remove it from the drop down menu until it is used again.)
- Follow the link to Create account.
- When you get to the second page, select ‘Use my current email address instead’
- This allows you to use your work or another existing email address as a Google account.
